At the Scarborough Bluffs Rotary Club, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream. That’s why we proudly support the incredible work of the DeSantos Foundation (www.desantos.ca), whose mission is to ensure children in Prospect, Guyana can attend school, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Each year, the Foundation undertakes the enormous task of preparing children for the school year. This means traveling long distances across Guyana to purchase school uniforms, shoes, and essential supplies, often in remote areas where access is limited but the need is great. These aren’t just items; they’re lifelines to opportunity.
In 2024, thanks to generous donations and tireless effort, the Foundation was able to send 400 children to school. This September, in 2025, they managed to support 300 more, a remarkable achievement, but still short of the growing demand. Children continue to knock on the door, hopeful for a chance to learn, but funds have fallen short.
